SUMMARY OF VESSEL WELDER FITTER DUTIES

Candidate sets up and safely performs a variety of welding operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Equipment utilized could include Sub-arc welding equipment, MIG welding equipment and Flux-core welding equipment. This role is responsible for executing work as assigned by a supervisor to adhere to the production schedule. The candidate must be a safety oriented, self-motivated multitasker who has a strong work ethic.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Safely and effectively yield high-quality welded products that meet all required specifications
  • Work in a team environment focusing on safety, quality, delivery and cost standards
  • Perform welding in accordance with proper procedures
  • Produce high-quality welds capable of passing NDE and hydrostatic pressure tests
  • Perform rigging operations as necessary
  • Observe welding operations closely, adjusting equipment to maintain proper weld condition
  • Have working knowledge of weld procedure requirements
  • Familiar with filler wire selection and acceptable weld preparation techniques
  • Performs oxy-propylene cutting on all metals as required
  • Must understand process parameter settings: amperage, voltages, preheat, inter-pass temperatures and post-heat requirements

  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Complete paperwork as required

REQUIRED SKILLS

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • Must have the ability and skill to pass a 6G weld test
  • Must have the ability to work and perform job duties by following engineering drawings or diagrams
  • Must be able to perform shop math calculations (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, figuring angles, converting fractions/decimals, etc.)
  • Must be able to perform arc gouging and oxy-propylene cutting
  • Must be knowledgeable about and capable of performing repairs in an effective, efficient and timely manner according to standard welding practices

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The candidate must be capable of physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching and reaching. Additionally, the individual must be capable of recurring lifting or handling of heavy items or similar activities from ground level to above the head with weights of up to 60 pounds throughout the work shift.

SUMMARY OF FACILITIES ENGINEER DUTIES

The Applications & Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for supporting the sales and estimating teams with sizing and technical information to support a well-defined proposal package. This will include sizing of equipment, vessels and piping to meet customer needs. Typical equipment would be dehydration units, amine plants, stabilizers, separators, filters, piping/valve skids, etc. This candidate will be responsible for developing valve and instrumentation lists by specifying the correct products to meet customer needs and specifications. The candidate will also be responsible for reading customer specifications and ensuring the proposed equipment complies. The engineer will also be responsible for supporting the project and engineering groups through the procurement and fabrication processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform engineering calculations in accordance with industry-accepted codes and practices to size oil and gas production and process equipment.
  • Use a broad range of engineering capabilities to evaluate, develop, model and optimize ideas in support of shop requirements and customer needs. Evaluate mechanical, electromechanical and process systems and products by applying previous experience as well as principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer and materials.
  • Perform engineering evaluations and technical feasibility related to new proposals.
  • Review and evaluate proposals for technical clarity.
  • Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information.
  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests from customer, sales and fabrication teams.
  • Work with supply chain to quote and determine lead time on packaged equipment components such as relief valves, control valves, I&E, separator raw materials, etc.
  • Confer with estimating, project stakeholders, operations, management, vendor and various subject matter experts to elaborate a proposed project scope definition and ensure the validity of the design through its execution.
  • Interface with customers, providing engineering support to the sales team.
  • Interface with outside providers of engineering services to support the work effort as needed.
  • Prepare and/or approve reports, proposals and presentations.
  • Advise and consult with upper management, customers and industry representatives concerning business opportunities and potential problems that may impact future business.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience with oil and gas production equipment required; 5+ years preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ASME, API, GPSA, NFPA and NEC guidelines and standards.
  • Specific working knowledge of natural gas compression, dehydration, stabilization and treating is preferred.
  • Understanding of ASME Section VIII and its implications in design. Proficiency in Codeware Compress ASME code calculation software a plus.
  • The ability to size basic oil and gas production equipment is required (dehydration, separation, filtration, piping, etc.).
  • Proficient with computer modeling software (BR&E Promax and AutoCAD Suite preferred).

The Facilities Project Engineer is responsible for engineering support and design of oil and gas facilities and equipment. By relying on  previous experience and good engineering practices the Facilities Project Engineer is expected to support the sales, design, construction and installation of modular oil and gas facilities and equipment. The candidate will be responsible for working with the customer to develop and sell modular facilities and equipment that will meet performance needs while being easy to operate. The candidate must also accommodate customers' increased focus on modular and easy-to-install systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uses a broad range of engineering capabilities to evaluate, develop, model and optimize ideas in support of shop requirements and customer needs. Evaluates mechanical, electromechanical and process systems and products by applying previous experience as well as principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer and materials.
  • Performs engineering evaluations and technical feasibility related to new facility opportunities.
  • Develops oil and gas facilities and components by studying customer requirements while considering manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
